Dogs must be friendly, well-behaved, and stay away from food areas. There are many guests, especially some young ones, who are afraid of dogs and we ask that you please take that into consideration when deciding if you should take your dog to the farm.
Yes, we are open when it’s raining. However, if there is another time that you are able to come, we recommend you try to make it on a day that’s a little less wet! If you do come in the rain please bring rain gear, especially your boots as the field will get muddy (and so will you!) Certain attractions on the farm may be closed for safety reasons. If there is lightning or other dangerous conditions, guests will be asked to take shelter in a safe area.
We do not have a specific family rate but instead have a group rate. Please see our admissions page for more information.
Our location is about 1.5 hours from the north end of Calgary and 1 hour from the South end of Edmonton.
Pig races usually run 2 times each day in the Summer and on Fridays and Saturdays (and holiday Mondays) in the Fall. We recommend that you check with a staff member when you arrive at the farm or check the PIG RACE CLOCK for the next race time.
With scissors…just kidding, of course! If you would like to see how it’s done, check out the videos: How We Plant the Corn and How We Make the Maze. While you’re at it, subscribe to our Kraay Family Farm YouTube channel to stay up-to-date with other neat behind the scenes footage and videos from the Farm.
Yes! If it is raining, though, the field will get muddier so we recommend to come on a nice sunny day if at all possible.
Yes! Everyone is welcome here – there is something for all ages. Kids and Kids at heart pay admission and 2 and under are free.
In the Fall, when it is darker earlier, we suggest you try the maze in the dark! We open later on Fridays and Saturdays in the Fall so you can spend the evening in the maze. Bring a flashlight!
Please refer to our Admissions page for more information. Group rates are $2 off per person with a group of 25+. You must make a reservation and pay in a single transaction to receive the group rate price.
Firepits are available on a first come, first serve and we do not reserve them. Firewood can be purchased for $5 a bundle.
Yes you can pack your own food and you can rent a bbq ($10 – includes propane and utensils) if you need that as well.
Allow 2.5-4 hours for your visit to Kraay Family Farm. If you don’t have the time in one visit you can always upgrade to a Season Pass and come back again and again!
Yes, but please bring whatever you need to store it on your own as we do not have the space to store extra food.
No, you do not HAVE to book to come to the farm. Anytime during our public time you are welcome to come with any size group without a reservation. However, it is recommended that you reserve if you have 50+ people or if you want to rent a tent or BBQ. If you would like to reserve a time in the Spring/Fall during the weekdays you must reserve in advance and confirm your booking.
No, you do not NEED to purchase tickets ahead of time. It is up to you if you would like to do so and it speeds up the process when you arrive. Occasionally we do have online sales for the tickets as well. Follow us on our social media sites to find out about all our contests.
